Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children in the United States—in fact the CDC states that dental disease is four times more common than asthma among adolescents aged 14 to 17.
Dental caries are often easily preventable, but many families struggle to provide adequate care for their children. A non-profit in Southern California is working to tackle this issue by creating outreach programs aimed at prevention and education.
Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County (HSK) developed a unique model of care to deliver essential dental services to low-income and special needs children in Southern California at various treatment sites including hospitals, mobile clinics, and even on-site at schools.
With high patient volume across multiple sites, HSK needed a cloud solution to help power its teledentistry workflow and increase efficiency.
